Well another decent weeknd of fishing. The stripers are still hittin. Good fun action alot of catch and release due the size of them. Some are 12 inches and some are 14 inches but most of them are about 8 to 10 inches. If your looking for fun and alot of action. Then you can still catch the little guys. Anchovies are the candies of candies out there. I tried some frozen shad. they work to but the smell of the Anchovies are the way to go no dought about it. We even use some sardines. They work as…

11/19 - F-O-G, means oh so F-I-N-E!

I rolled out of the sack around 6am, then hit the bait shop with a cup o' joe. And was so surprised by how many people were pulling into the parking lot....IT'S THURSDAY!!!!! What the hell, I thought after watching one friend after another head for the boat ramp. I thought, I was the only one that didn't have a job t…

I am looking for a decent clean, good running Class C motor home, with all facilities working and all appliances and generator working. No roof leak history and must be ready for traveling and living in.
One that current owner is willing to carry an owner finance note on with a down payment and monthly payments.

11/17 - They're back....BIG time.

It always bothers me, when it's November and I'm not finding my Trout friends stacked up like cord wood, East of the boat ramp. Because this is "the time". And for numerous reasons to include gale force winds, high seas, winds from the East, lack of a decent tide. Are just some of the reasons why they seem to v…

How do you get a 500+ ft barge on the beach? Simple, just try towing her at sea during a slow moving Noreaster off the Virginia coast. Hey we are used to noreasters here in the fall and winter months, but this was the slowest moving storm I've seen. We have a lot of trees down due to the 50mph winds and saturating 10" of rain. I took this picture off Sandbridge in Virginia Beach. The barge is loaded with hazardous chemicals, but they won't tell us what!

Amberjack, kingfish and mackerel are plentiful on the reef right now. Catch 'em up and get smokin'!
A heavy-duty mixer or food processor makes it easier to break down the fish into a spread-like consistency, but elbow grease will work just as well.
The sweet flavors added by the roasted red pep…

Unexpectedly and without notice, the National Marine Fisheries Service has closed the greater amberjack fishery in Gulf of Mexico federal waters from October 24 through December 31, 2009. They claim an established annual recreational harvest quota has been met.
However, fishing for amberjack in Atlanti…

Well got back last night from Morehead City. Fished the Redfish Action Championship event and as usual had a blast!!! I really encourage some of you guys to come out next year for some of the Redfish Action events. I assure you if you come to just one event you will have a blast! Capt Lee goes way out of his way to make it a great time for everyone involved. Its completely different from the other redfish tournaments Ive fished as far as the way he treats his anglers and listens to them. Events…

Anyone interested in fishing the flats for Redfish, Trout, Flounder, Tarpon in the Fernandina Beach, Jacksonville, St. Augustine, and Titusville areas please feel free to contact me. This is not a guide service, just a somewhat experienced fisherman with a decent flats boat looking for company, it gets freakin' lonely out there.

I had a weird yet wonderful morning this past Saturday. The hubby and I waded into Seawolf park at about 5:00am. The water was chilly, but I got used to it soon enough. I was slow dragging finger mullet across the bottom and my second cast I felt that familliar boble! I slacked my line a tiny bit and started…

September 12th, 2009/Report
Fall is starting to be felt in the air. The past several weeks you could just feel the ever so slight changes of the weather in your bones. Labor Day comes and goes, kids go back to school, footballs starts! It just sets things in motion for things to come. Not much but just enough to sense that things are very soon going to be turning a bit. Go from fall to winter fishing the flats in no time at all. Fishing has been very steady throughout the entire lagoon systems…

September is here and so is snook season. The snook fishing should be great for the next couple of months. With rain storms on us everyday, and the fall mullet run about to kick off we should see some explosive action on the flats this month. Fishing the Indian River Lagoon will be our main target for snook. Anglers can look forward to early morning top fishing water to produce good results. The night fishing will be just as productive for anglers seeking the big snook on the lig…
